Peanut Worm, a burrowing worm-like sea animal commonly seen on shores of Beihai, is around 5-10 cm long and 5-8 mm in diameter. Peanut worm, whether raw or cooked, is a tasty seafood. It can also be dried and then used for diverse cuisines. It is always selling well in the market as a healthy food.

Beihai pearl, called south pearl is famous all over the world. The beauty of South pearls comes from their thick nacre and higher luster. Layers of nacre that have crystallized and aligned properly create pearls with intense glow. An old saying from of old “West Pearl Superior to East Pearl, South Pearl Superior to West Pearl” proves the high quality of south pearl.

Longyan is popular in Lingnan area. Longyan production in Hepu County, Beihai is very famous. Its origin is as early as Han dynasty. From the poem in which the great poet Su Tungpo praising the good taste of longyan, we can know Hepu County has a history of hundreds of years in longyan production. Longyan is a prolific bearer and thrives in many towns of Hepu County. Longyan may be dried without nut. The sun dried longyan is well known as longyan-nut can be used as medicine. Canned longyan is exported all over the world.
