Stone forest was formed by crustal movement 10 million years ago, when Mountain Longmen was rising rapidly, while the area to the west of Mountain Longmen was still undersea, and an enclosed lake was shaped in western Sichuan to the east of the mountain. Rocks weathered and eroded by water settled and piled up in the long history to form bibbley rocks, and finally became the hoodoo rock seen today as washed and cracked by rainwater. This type of gravel stone forest mainly consists of limestone and small amount of sandstone, quartzite and very little lava. The complicated components make it very rare in China and totally different from stone forests in Lu'nan of Yunnan and Gong County of Sichuan.

Formerly know as “Sandaowan”, Small Jiuzhaigou is one of the appointed sites for “Alp Water-splashing Festival” held in Mountain Tiantai. Jinlong River flows down to form a scenic waterway with three major curves and six minor curves, featuring charming scenery including springs, creeks, riffles, gullies, ponds and underground rivers. Besides, as part of the camellia corridor in the scenic area, Small Jiuzhaigou is surrounded by blooming camellia and green bamboos, making Small Jiuzhaigou “a river that raises the sun and the moon with gorgeous camellia on both banks”.

The Little Mill belongs to the Qing Dynasty' relics and set off in the green forest with quiet and simple environment. The Jinlong River overlapped from sides through the broken channel, which formed long lake and waterfalls. The rope rack, stone grinder, circular column and roof all show the wisdom of working people.

Sumptuous in style, water course of the Moon Cave Water Screen is salient. There is a water cave, 5m wide and 2m high, like a crescent, between peaks, in which turbulent water gusts out, bubbling up the deep valley and veiling it with misty. The water screen, with its motion, forms a circuitous slope, over 60m long, like a full moon cave or a flute, to perform pieces of symphony of water and moon together with breeze of pine, flying spring, and lotus flower wave.

18Li Vanilla Valley is located in the third mesa in the beauty spot, with its altitude of 1,460 meters and its ancient name of White Dragon Slope. Just like a white dragon zigzagging in the virgin forest, somewhere it intersects, somewhere it cascades and somewhere it meanders secluded till very far away. With brook waterfront, cascade ponds and breezy water, it dominates among all Mountain Tiantai's waterscapes. There are riverbeds of dark sandstone free of sand and soil, with water flowing on it and overlapping vanilla flourishing as well as withered bines circling trees on either of its banks, precious and unwonted birds and beasts appearing and disappearing and age-old plank roads, old-age temples and sites of ancient houses everywhere. With its theme of playing with water this beauty spot provides a series of programs concerning water such as going against the stream, water paddling, water treading, rafting in a bamboo raft, mill wheel game, revolving boat game and so on. This beauty spot, the function of which is a combination of amusement, sightseeing, exploration and science popularization, is regarded as one and only valley of dabbling in the mountain in south Sichuan.
