Khustai National Park is an area distinguished by a landscape of treeless steppes. You may see some of the wildlife, such as the Asiatic red deer, black-tailed gazelle, corsac fox, wolf, but the park is best known as the home of the Przewalski's Horse (Mongolian wild horse or Takhi). This unique species is more closely related to the zebra than a horse and obscure stripes can be seen on its hindquarters. There's a good chance of seeing them in the evening, as they graze close to the camp. The area is perfect |
