Unearthed in 1980 from Xiaquan Village, Chang'an County, Shaanxi Province. As a ceremonial food vessel, this tripod was the most popular form of ancient Chinese bronze vessel. Inside it was inscribed with 278 characters, which were regarded as important material for researching the war history of the Western Zhou Dynasty and the the relationship between the Zhou people and Yan Yun (a minority nationality in northern China) during the reign of King Li. |
