Mountain Python National Forest Park is situated in the east of Ming Tombs reservoir of Changping district, about 40 kilometers from Beijing, and is the largest national forest park in Beijing. Because the mountain range winds like a huge python, its name therefore came into being.

Python National Forest Park boasts four astonishing landscapes. First, there is a variety of plants in the mountain, totaling 176 kinds, and the forest coverage is as high as 86%. Third, there is the longest mountain ladders in Beijing, totaling 3,666 steps made of stone slabs. Fourth, there is the highest pagoda atop of the mountain in Beijing and the painted long corridor, offering a distant view of Beijing.

The park has over a dozen tourist attractions as the place where Deng Xiaoping planted trees, the cultural stele forest, the python-watching platform and the flower garden. And in the nearby areas, there are also sightseeing orchards and restaurants where visitors can taste fresh fruits and local flavor dishes.
