Shaanxi Mosque lies in northern side in Yonghe Zheng Lane in Heping Road in Urumqi City. The Grand Hall is the brick and wooden structure, sitting west and facing east, is up to over 10 meters, the front palace area is 250 square meters, may hold 500 persons to go to church. Architecture style of Grand Hall not only follows Islamic doctrine prohibiting use idols and animals pattern, but also keep the ancient traditional wood structure's architecture style in China. Since this architecture fuse the ethnic cultural architecture spirit, was classified cultural relics unit. Shaanxi Mosque is the biggest Hui Mosque. It was built in Qianlong and Jiaqing period in Qing Dynasty, was ever rebuilt in 1906. |
