The People's Park

The People's Park lies in western bank of Urumqi River. Its former name is Sharing Happiness Park.

It is a piece of marshland originally, the old trees are verdant around it. During Qianlong period in the Qing Dynasty, after Urumqi was finished, it became into a sightseeing and relaxing center. Began to built the garden in the Guangxu 9th year, built dragon King Temple, Zuixia pavilion, Xiaochun pavilion, Jianhu pavilion, etc around the lake.
