Mountain Qingyun Scenic Zone

Located in Linglu Town and Chixi Town of Yongtai County, Fuzhou City, Mountain Qingyun Scenic Zone, this national AAAA scenic zone and national key scenic resort is about 13 kilometers from Yongtai County and 75 kilometers from Fuzhou City. Reportedly, in the Song Dynasty, Xiao Guoliang studied hard at the mountain and then came first in the highest imperial examination, and hence the name.

This scenic zone covers a planned area of 52.5 square kilometers and is distributed with 7 1000-kilometer tall peaks and 9 canyons & rivers. It consists of 6 scenic spots: Sky Corridor, Dragon Waterfall, White-horse Canyon, Water Screen Palace, Tree-fern Garden and Sky Pond Grassland.

Mountain Qingyun is located in the tropical zone of Central Asia. Featuring a warm climate and diversified forest plants, the mountain grows 183 families, 667 genus and 1,295 species, including thousands of plant species under first-class state protection (such as yew), 18 species of plants under second-class state protection (such as tree-fern), 36 species of arethusa plants and 233 species of vines. There are 216 species of spinal animals out of 61 families, including over 200 macaques (4 groups) under second-class state protection. The relic of Xiao Guoliang, the Number One Scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty, is also well protected.

It integrates steep peaks and mountains, sinuous streams, spectacular waterfalls, the fantastic temples and the verdant trees. The tourists can comprehend the poetic grace of “Two Mountains stand oppositely on both banks, and billows roar from low valleys. Fishes swim at the boom of the waters that are as clear as mirror, and birds sing in the blue welkin.” The scenic area is depicted as “it has been hidden in boudoir for such a long time that nobody knows it, while unveiling it, its beauty shocks all the people in Fujian Province.”

Admission fee: RMB ¥ 30 per person
