Mountain Emei

Mountain Emei Lies in the southwestern area of Sichuan basin in China. It's 150 kilometers away from Chengdu, 130 kilometers from the Shuangliu International Airport and only 28 kilometers from Leshan city.

Mountain Emei's main peak is called as the Golden Summit and the highest peak, the Wanfoding Summit 3,099 meters above the sea level. Standing on the Wanfoding Summit, visitors can view the Sunrise, the Sea of Clouds, the Buddhist Divine and the Saints' lights. When you enjoy the snow-clad mountains and trees like silver world in the winter, the azaleas flowers are in full bloom like the sea of flower in the summer. In autumn, the mountains are covered with red autumnal leaf. The beautiful scenery shall make you enjoy yourself so much as to forget to go home.

Due to huge difference in temperature from foot to top of the mountain, people describe it with these words “you experience the four seasons within the same day and see a different sky every five kilometers”.

Mountain Emei is one of four famous Buddhist Mountains in China, and known as the place of Buddhist Mountains in China, and known as the place of Buddhist Rites of puxian. There are 30 temples in scenic area. In the center of the Wannian Temple is a huge bronze statue of Samantabhadra mounted on a white elephant. Its weight is 62 tons. The bronze statue of Samantabhadra and Feilai Hall are listed in the state protection. Mountain Emei has currently 164 historical and cultural sites and 7,000 relics and vestiges, among which 850 are under the state protection. Emei School of martial arts has developed in China and is still popular today.

Mountain Emei is featured by “Kingdom of Plants”, “Paradise of Animals”, “Geological Museum”, “Buddhist Celestial Mountain”, particulary famous for the “NO.1 Mountain Under The Sun”.

As the famous senic spot and the Buddhist mountain in China, Mountain Emei has inscribed in the World Naturaural Heritage List by UNESCO.
