The beautiful Bell pavilion on the phoenix village is located opposite to the Nation-dedicating Temple. In the area, there stand groups of tablets with inscriptions of several famous authors and philosophers, such as Lee Bai, Kang Youwei, Liu Guangdi and many more. As you wind your way up the mountain, you can see a lovely hexagonal pavilion with two layers of eaves and red pillars. That is the Bell Pavilion. A tablet on its face tells some character “Evening Bell of Shengji”. Evening bell of Shengji was once one of the 10 scenic spots of Mountain Emei. The bronze bell, made during Ming Dynasty, measures 251 meters in height, 204 meters in diameter and an amazing 125 tons in weight. It, as a valuable relic, is known as the King of the Bell in Sichun Province and is a very valuable relic. |
