Mahao Fishing Village

The Mahao Fishing Village is located between two mountains: Mountain Lingyun and Mountain Wuyou. It is a building uniquely shaped like an archaic ship. The whole building is of Doumu structure (a traditional Sichuan house structure) with carved figures on the doors and windows. The floor of the building is paved with stone slabs and the roof is covered with black tiles. In the “hull”, the building area is nearly 4,000 square meters, the overall length is 113.8meters and the breadth is 28.8 meters. The spar section, the center of the fishing village, is a bridge opera tower, which is 15.8 meters high. The “ship” rests its head on the Bijin Building, and makes use of its tail end to connect to the Mahao Cliff Tomb Museum. Overlooking it from the mountain and facing the river, it is like a large black awning ship that is anchored among the lush trees and thin and long bamboos. Mahao Fishing Village arranged the downtown streets in the “Ship” to form a queer sight of “The ship is a street and the street is a ship”. It is a good plac where visitors can have a veal, do some shopping,sip and taste tea, and rest.
