Located south of Yongcui Peak and masterly constructed according to the topography, the Moon pavilion is a set of ancient-model architectural features that are made up of pavilions, corridors and courtyards. The two characters “Moon Pavilion” are on the stele of the entrance, and the couplet on the two sides read as:“The rising moon over Mountain Emei images the Yaoshui River, The blossoming plum in front of the pavilion dreams of the Duanqiao Bridge.”
The right drawing corridor is full of couplets, among which the couplet “Soar as high as ninety thousand miles, surge as far as three thousand miles”, written by a famous artist Li Yujou, is especially striking. On the two sides of the gate to the second courtyard are Kang Youwei's poetry :“Urbanity lies in the universe, extreme enjoyment exists among mountain forests”. There is a cloister to the right and Danya cliff to the left of the second courtyard. Poles, plaques, miniature landscapes and flowers are strewn at random in the courtyard. Leaning upon a balustrade, we see aged pines and green bamboos, which are elegant and idyllic. |
