It is said that Su Dongpo often visited Mountain Lingyun, and once when he was strolling on a boat in the river, he was intoxicated with the beautiful landscape of Hanjia and sighed with emotion:“Wishing to be the satrap of Hanjia, I would visit Mountain Lingyun while carrying wine to drink”. Zaijou Pavilion was named to commemorate him. Zaijou Pavilion is located opposite the stone inscription “the place where Su Dongpo carried wine with him on his tour” which was inscribed by Guo Weichen, the Satrap of Jiazhou, on the right cliff of the Doushuai Palace. Resting in the Zaijou Pavilion, one can observe the three rivers and overlook Mountain Emei. Fan Chengda, a poet in Song Dynasty, wrote in his poem:“It is said here is the place where Su Dongpo visited while carrying wine for drink, Thousands of Buddha statues welcomed me to the mountain top when I arrived. The rivers lashed Nine-peak Mountain just like a tempest passing. While clouds covered three mountains, floating day and night.”
Zaijou Pavilion is a good place to view sights while resting. |
