Located in Yaogang village in Feidong county, Hefei, The Site of the Former General Front Committee For the Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign is a key historical relic site under the state protection.
From the 2nd April to the 28th April in 1949, the General Front Committee for the Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign was stationed here. Deng Xiaoping, Liu Bocheng, Chen yi, Su Yu,and Tan Zhenlin jointly planned and commanded operations of the campaign, which shocked the country and the world over.
The former sites include the offices for the General Front Committee and the East China Bureau, the attached staff division, confidential division, secretarial division and logistic division. Besides, the anti-air-raid tunnel, fish pond and an ancient wayside pavilion are still existing here.
