Dehua Ceramics

Dehua ceramics is the traditional craftwork. It was started in the Tang Dynasty, developed in Song and Yuan Dynasties and made a breakthrough in Ming Dynasty. The white ceramics produced in Dehua have the reputation of being “white as snow, thin as paper, smooth as jade”. Dehua ceramics is famous especially for its statue of Kuanyin which was made by the senior master He Chaosong and named “Helai Kuan” after his name. The “Ivory White” ceramic statue developed by him is a valuable object unparallel in the world, known as the “crown jewel in the international ceramic sector”.
