Mountain Guanzhai Scenic Area

As an AAAA-level national scenic zone and a major scenic resort of the country and located near 1.5-kilometer-landmark of Chengdong, Liancheng County, Fujian Province, Mountain Guanzhai is a scenic zone of typical Danxia landform. With its shape just like the head of an ancient goat, and hence the name. It has been reputed as “No.1 Sight of the Upstreams of Three Rivers (Min River, Ting River and Jiulong River)” since as early as Ming Dynasty.

With the features of “Danxia” landform, it merges mountains, waters, rocks, caves, springs and temples. The scenic area is characterized by grandness, secludedness, fantasticalness and gracefulness, so it is regarded as “being matchless in term of its virility and effeminacy throughout the world”.

With a total area of 123 square kilometers, scenic zone of Mountain Guanzhai is composed of Xiezhai Coronet, Shimen Lake, Zhu'an Stockade, Qishi Stockade, Jiulong Lake, Yunxiao Rock etc.
