Cuiping Lake is a major scenic resort of provincial level located in Gutian County, Fujian Province, reachable by No.203 Provincial Road via Waifu Railway or Jingfu Expressway.
Cuiping Lake is 10.2 kilometers wide from east to west, and 14.5 kilometers long from north to south. There are 36 islands scattered within the lake. On the islands with luxuriantly green forests and grasslands, there are “Island of Love”——the Egret Island where crowds of egrets soar and perch, Lake Center Island where century-old villas in European style were built, Houlong Island where you can visit Xishan Painting & Calligraphy Study full of local characteristics. On the east bank of the Lake lies the ancestral temple of Chen Jinggu, the Goddess on Land who is well-known all over S.E. Asia and Taiwan; while on the west bank of the Lake, there is a millennium-old ancient temple——Sukhavati Temple where Rabbi Yuanying from Gutian assumed the first chairman of China Buddhism association. It is a comprehensive tourist resort that integrates sightseeing, convention service, leisure, holiday-spending, cultural relic, and industrial & agricultural tourism. |
