Mandarin Duck Stream is a major scenic resort of the country and national geology park located in the northeast of Pingnan County, Fujian Province and 25 kilometers to the county seat, reachable northward from No.202 Provincial Road of Fuzhou, and it belongs to gorge-like natural areas composed of volcanic rocks.
Mandarin Duck Stream is 18 kilometers long, 10-100 meters wide, and covers an area of 66 square kilometers. The rock walls on both banks of the Stream are nearly vertical in the height of about 200-600 meters. In the scenic spot of Mandarin Duck Stream, there are most waterfalls in China, among which Baizhangji Water Curtain Cave is most spectacular, and it is ranked at the “Top of Five Largest Water Curtain Caves in China”. The scenic zone of Mandarin Duck Stream consists of Baishuiyang Water Square, Yiyang, Mandarin Duck Lake, Liugong Rock, Taibao Building. There are over 280 scenic spots such as Baishuiyang Water Square, Heaven Pillar Peak, Fairies Feasting on Grains at Ding Pond, Small Hukou Waterfall, Baizhangji Water Curtain Cave, Shamao Rock etc. |
