Jiayuguan City lies at the western part of the middle section of the Hexi Corridor in northwestern Gansu Province, and adjoins Mountain Mazong in the north and Mountain Qilian in the south. With a strategically important terrain and a majestic landscape, the city is named after the Jiayuguan Pass that is the inevitable pass of the ancient Silk Road and a thoroughfare for the exchange of eastern and western cultures, hence its reputation as the “First Pass of Gansu”. |
