The Over-hanging Great Wall is on Mountain Heishan hillside which is four kilometers north of Jiayuguan Pass. It looks as if the Great Wall hangs upside down and the hard arm is hanging over. So it has got the reputation of “Over-hanging”. It was originally built in 1539 in the Ming Dynasty, and it was one of the main entrances to West Regions in ancicnt times. As one part of the West Great Wall, steep and majestic, the “Over-hanging” Great Wall is regarded as “Badaling Great Western China”. |
