Introduction of Zhangye City

Zhangye City, once called Ganzhou Prefecture, lies at the middle section of the Hexi Corridor in Gansu Province, and means “strengthening China's power by impairing the principal support for the Huns”. It enjoys the reputation of “Golden Zhangye as a Jiangnan area north of the Great Wall”. It is abundant in water resources, grass and products. With rich tourism resources, Zhangye City is most famous for Giant Buddha Temple and Wooden Pagoda Temple, and has the biggest indoor lying Buddha in the world and a peculiar folklore of the Guyus in Gansu Province.
