Clear Sea Seaside

Clear Sea Seaside, with an alternative name Lantern Seaside, lies in the southeast seashore of Laoting County.

Legend says that Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty went on an inspection in disguise and lodged in a fisherman's house one night. Not knowing the emperor the fisherman opened his mouth and told many fantastic and funny stories like A Treasure bowl ,Fisherman's God, the Origin of the Bohai Sea Gulf and others. Kangxi was very excited and enjoyed listening more and more. It was almost dawning before he knew it. Suddenly a dazzling light was shining on the sea like a big lantern. The area within dozens of li became bright. Much surprised, Kangxi asked what it was about. The fisherman told him it was a nameless sandy hill with nothing but a few fishing houses in the day. However, when it was quiet in the dead of night, a strange fire burned. Winds won't blow it out. If tongues of flames were dancing without any wind, the next day would arrive with either wind or rain. At that, Kangxi was too glad to be aware of his status and blurted out, “The place is named Lantern Seaside”. Thus this name spread widely from then on.

The sandy beach here is flat and wide with clear water and a private environment. On both sides of the seaside stand fishermen's piers. Here are rich sea products. Fishing ponds and prawn pools are on the north where you can fish. In the west is a large piece of saltpan with an endless view. Birds gather at the old Migouhe Bend nearby where you can watch them. State-run Jianggezhuang Forest Farm, a state-level forest park, lies next to this seaside, making it full of ecological interest.
