Situated in the Xinzhuang Township of Fan County, Maolou stands at the border between He'nan and Shandong Provinces, facing the Yellow River to the South, bordering the dam to the north. It has a grand natural view. In the dynasties of Tang, Song, Ming and Qing, it was under the administration of Puzhou. Legend has it that ancient emperors Yao and Shun left many footprints in this area. Attractions are the Danzhu Tomb and Maogang Martyrs' Memorial Park.
The tourism zone is a well-designed natural sight after careful examinations of the natural ecological environment of the Yellow River reaches. Eight attractions and facilities have been built, such as “the Yellow River Wonder”, “Listening to Waves under the Moon”, “Summer Escape on the Sand Beach”, “Watching Carps in Autumn”. It has been reputed as the “Fist Ecological Tourism Zone along the Yellow River”.
Maolou has become an ecological tourism zone typical of the pastoral view of the Yellow River. Watching the waves, rowing in the river, strolling on the path surrounded by flowers and listening to the chirps of birds enable visitors to have a feeling of returning to the nature. There is a variety of play programs, among which are the boat ride, waterside motor ride, horse race, camel ride, fishing and hunting. |
