Xinxiang, located to the north of the Yellow River and to the south of Mountain Taihang, is one of the cradles of the Chinese civilization. The Battle of Muye (1046 B.C. at the turn of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties), was a famous battle in history, took place on this land.
Xinxiang is an environment-friendly city. The south part of Mountain Taihang, which presents a natural picture of verdant woods, running waterfalls, flowing streams, perilous peaks and gorgeous rocks, expands for thousands of square kilometers. The Yellow River winds through Xinxiang, extending about 170 kilometers, and all the year round its banks are lined with green grass and shadowy forests. The ancient course of Yellow River, which was formed as the result of the repeated bursts and diversions of Yellow River, preserves numerous lakes, bogs and marshes. Xinxiang is dressed in green with verdant woods, flourishing grass and the vast expanse of waters.
