Located around the eastern edge of the nature reserve, Mountain Baotianman is well known for its vast area, steep terrains, and abundant resources.
With a height of 1,830m above the sea leval, it is the border mountain between Neixiang and Nanzhao counties. The main tree species include oaks, birches, armand pines, lacquer trees, tungs, Chinese lindens, mulberries and so on. Among the animal species, there are more than 100 kinds such as tigers, leopards, deer, roe deer, antelopes, otters, giant salamanders, golden pheasants and so on. There are over 1,055 kinds of medicinal herbs such as Jinshisan (JSS), Rhizomn Gastrodiae, musk, Cornus officinalis, Chinese Thorowax Root, Balloonflowers and so on. The flora and fauna here play a significant role in the study of the transition of vegetations, the introduction and acclimatization of animals and plants and the change of ecological systems. On the peak there are remains of a temple where a stone table stands, dated back to the Ming Dynasty. |
