The mausoleum for Queen Li, the wife of Liang Xiaowang (Xiao King of Liang State) Liu Wu, is located at the north peak of Mountain Baoan, about 200m apart from Liang Xiaowang Mausoleum in the south.
It belongs to the mausoleum characterized by “same tomb but different cave” of Han Dynasty's funeral system. This mausoleum was discovered in 1990, and was excavated in 1992. With whole length of 210.5m, most height of 4.4m, drop height of 17m, total area of 1,600m2 and total containment of 6,500m3, this mausoleum is composed of tomb passage, carriage and horse chamber, east palace, west palace, winding corridor and drainage facility, etc., by right of which it is praised as “the world first mausoleum with stone chambers”. |
