Dongpo Pavilion is located in Hepu teachers school. Su Dongpo lived in Qingye garden during the third year of Yuanfu in Song Dynasty. Although two-mouth living is a short time, he created some poems like “Lianzhou longan delicious enouth to rival litchi” and “Staying in Jingxing yard on a rainy night” and some notes as “Hepu old men's saying” etc. In order to commemorate him, later generations constructed Dongpo Pavilion which has been rebuilt later in the site of the former Qingye garden. It's a two-layer pavilion style with a brick and timber structure like Resting Peak . Above the front door of the main pavilion hangs a big word board “Dongpo Pavilion” which was written by Tie Buddhist in Six Banyan Temple of Guangzhou. In the front wall of the pavilion set a carved status Su Dongpo and steles of ten works of his poems and articles.
A well named Dongpo is to the east of the pavilion which was dug by Su Dongpo himself on old saying and its water is clear and sweet. In the east side of the pavilion is a Dongpo Garden in the middle of the lake. The murmuring lake water gently flows and weeping willows serve good shade and all of this make up a beautiful scenery. Dongpo Pavilion became an key historical relics protection unit and Hepu tourist site in the county. |
