Panlong Park, located in the eastern bank of Liujiang riverbank, three peaks ranking on the Panlong Hill, standing facing the river, shaped like a dragon, so the park gets its name. Main peak of Panlong Hill is 197 meters above the sea level, the hill is steep and beautiful. Family Wang Hill House and Pan Gu Temple were built in the mountain in Ming Dynasty. Xu Xiake made a detailed description and appraised it after he traveled.
The ancient pagoda was built on the Hill in Qing Dynasty and was removed later. The government appropriated funds and people from all circles contributed capital to rebuild it in 1993. Besides Wenguang Pagoda was rebuilt in the former place, a Panlong Pagoda was newly built here, which stands opposite each other at a distance. The pagodas are six-corner seven-floor buildings that set off the scene each other and look like double swords inserting into the sky. Historical and cultural sites such as Pan Gu Temple, Family Wang Hill House and Donglin Cave are built in the hill. Many people from all directions are attracted to make pilgrimage for its rich religion culture; the pagodas are full of fragrant smoke and fog all daylong. In the evening, viewing eastwards in Liujiang Bridge, color lights in the two pagodas glitter, like numerous stars gathering; the pagoda image is reflected in the river, like a maid shaking her sleeves, which forms a colorful night scenery view with bright Liujiang Wenhui Bridge. |
