The blessed spot of the ancient men in South China Liuzhou White Lotus Cave Scientific Museum, located in southeastern suburb of Liuzhou and is 12 kilometers away from the city, is the first comprehensive cave scientific research museum in China which was proposed to be built by Professor Pei Wenzhong, famous anthropology expert.
White Lotus Cave has unique natural environment, the full length of narrow way in the caving which is full of twists and turns is over 1,870 meters. The cave covers an area of about 7,000 square meters, the cave has lower floor, and ground water in the channel with the length of over 370 meters is clear and endless all the year round. Cultural relics such as bone fossil, tooth fossil, stone vessel, stone decoration and original sand potsherd etc. were unearthed in the accumulative layer of the cave, containing the continuous units of culture at earlier stage which enter Neolithic Age from Old Stone Age to Middle Stone Age, the time span is 37000~-7000 years, this is quite rare in China. White Lotus Cave Cultural Relics is listed in the city key relic protection unit. |
