Covering 2,400 mu, the Nanning Sculpture Park (formerly Guangxi Martyrs Memorial Park) is a forest park with splendid memorial constructions and memorial sculptures scattering among the evergreen pine trees and cypresses, offering a wonderful place for patriotism education and sightseeing as well. Some main constructions include monuments, memorial halls, a group of statues on gray granite, stone pailou (decorated archway), hill-top pavilions and a Dong minority roofed-bridge. The most outstanding attraction and a key base for conducting patriotism education in the park is the Group Statue Square memorializing Baise Uprising and Longzhou Uprising. With an area of about 5,000 square meters, it is composed of three groups of statues of anti-war zone, liberation zone and peace zone. |
