The original name of Old Factory is Old Paper Factory, produce the famous traditional handicraft Maobian paper for hundreds of years, which is located 70 kilometers southeast of Panxian County. The altitude here is in 1,500 and 2,133 meters, the full mountain was covered with thick lush bamboo, the total area of it is more than 15,000 acres, which have become the rare bamboo sea of the cool city, Liupanshui.
The old factory bamboo sea natural environment is tranquil and enjoyable. There are so many mountains and rivers here, and the weather is mild, we can often see clouds here. The streams flow in the mountains, the spring makes the voice just like “Ding Dong”. There are many flowers and birds in it. The bamboo sea is just like a piece of jade, green all year round. It is so beautiful when the annual rainy season arrived, the water flow from a hill, steep slope, stone seam, cliff become numerous mini waterfalls. The water is filtered by the special geologic formation and the percolation bamboo root has been named the “Bamboo water”. In the old days, it use the ancient method “Cai Lun's method of make paper” to produce the handicraft Maobian paper with ash bamboo as raw materials, and it has ever been the raw material of processing the sacrifice paper is sold as far as Southeast Asia. Nowadays, the yield of the handicraft Maobian paper has already reduced consumedly, but the ancient papermaking facilities and crafts workshops remain intact, visitors can feel the pulse of China's ancient cultural wave. Because of special natural environment, the local production “Old Factory Tea” has excellent quality and become nice gift for people. The bamboo dictyophora which has rich nutrition and taste good is a precious edible germ. The best bamboo dictyophora has white stems and hollow in it, wearing a black and sharp hat, dressing the white net skirt, standing gracefully, known as “The Queen of fungus”.
At present, the specialized beverage water factory has already set up in the old factory bamboo sea, the bamboo water which has been purified, disinfected was sold outside the provincial market. The drying shoot which was made by the gray bamboo is the delicious food in people's dining table.
