Jukui Pagoda, is one of conserved best ancient architecture in Hannan Province, dwarfing other towering coconut trees around her in the place 500 meters away from Tayang Town to the south. As per the County Annals of Qionghai, the Jukui Pagoda was built by a governor of county in 1605. This pagoda is 7-storey Tang dynastic architecture with a height of up to 30 meters. The Jukui Pagoda is hollow inside, erecting from a solid foundation that is surrounded with bounding wall. The main entrance faces toward north and on the lintel of door, there is a stone plaque hanging out engraved 3 characters “Jukui Pagoda”. Jukui Pagoda is quaint and novel. Each storey of the pagoda consists of 8 walls. Through the main entrance, you can climb up to the second storey via a small stair-flight and then storey by storey till the climax of Jukui Pagoda. A wooden polar is built on the top, through which you can stand up on the highest point of this pagoda. Looking down from the summit, green trees, fresh lotus leaves, scarlet lotus flowers are in you sight. There are so beautiful beyond words. |
