Tunnel Warfare Site of Ranzhuang Village

Situated at Ranzhuang Village, 15km south of Qingyuan County, the tunnel, which is centralized by the cross-shaped street at the village, has four arteries in the east, west, south, and north respectively, totaling 2.25km in length.

With ingenuous design, complex structure and complete facilities, the tunnel has such characteristics as resisting destruction, blockade, water attack, toxic gas, and fire attack. The tunnel also has headquarters, hoarding rooms for grains, waiting rooms, trap holes, toilets, illuminating lamps and road signs. Militia took advantage of it to fight enemies at Ranzhuang Village for many times, achieving great victories in the Anti-Japanese War and Liberation War respectively.
