Nadamu and Aobao Get-together in Meilisi Dawur District

Meilisi Dawur District of Qiqihar City is situated in the west part of Songnen Plain and on the right bank of Nenjiang River, which is only one Dawur ethnic group district of five districts governed by municipalities in China. There is total population of 171,000, including Dawur population of 12,000.

In the beginning of September each year, Nadamu and Aobao Get-Together are held, which is a traditional grassland carnival of Mongolian and Dawur ethnic group. On the occasion, there are various traditional sports and recreation competitions such as horse race, wrestling, archery and field hockey etc., and literature and art performances with strong national features. At the same time, the interflow of commodities and scientific and technical information goes along.
