Binjiang (Riverside) Park lies along the Yangtze riverside of Yichang. The Park was completed and opened on April, 1983. It is also called a Jade Corridor. Some people call it “Yichang's Waitan (beach)”. It is 3,333 metres long and 60 metres wide. There are a famous pavilion called Zhenjiangge (Conquer the Yangtze), a statue of Qu Yuan, Double Pavilion Square, the Cedar Hill, Nanxie (Southern Waterside) Pavilion and Feiquan Pavilion in it. Zhenjiangge has been rebuilt and it includes models of the Three Gorges Dam and a giant fresco “Ancient Yichang”. Every year a large-scale flower show of Chinese roses is held in Nanxie and it attracts large quantities of flow fans from all corners. There are more than 60,000 plants in it and the lawn is 50 thousand square metres. It's a quiet place for a good rest and exchanges of all hobbies. The long riverside is always a natural bathing beach for swimmers both in summer and winter. |
