Introduction of Zhongxiang City

Situated at the middle reaches of the Hanjiang River in central Hubei Province, Zhongxiang City is both one of cradles of the Chu Culture and one of the famous historic and cultural cities in China.

During the Ming Dynasty, Zhongxiang was the place where the Chengtian Government Office, one of the three administrative zones directly under the jurisdiction of the central government, was seated. Its long history has helped generate the brilliant Chu Culture. With plentiful tourism resources, it boasts Mountain Dahong National Scenic Area and a national forest park. In particular, the Huangxian Cave of karst landform covers an area of 20,000 square meters, and is rare in the world.
