Dongjiang Lake

Dongjiang Lake lies in Zixing City, 40-odd kilometers from Chenzhou City. As it covers and area of 160 square kilometers, it is acclaimed as “Dongting Lake in southern Hu'nan”.

The lofty Dongjiang Lake Dam is the first double-curved, highly arched thin dam independently desighed by China, and ranks second in the world and first in Asia among the dams of its kind. Rafting in Dongjiang Lake from the Longwang Temple in Huangcao Town to Yanzipai extends 12 kilometers and dashes across 108 shoals with rushing torrents. Such rafting within this primitive area provides adventure, serenity and novelty for tourists, and enjoys the reputation as “top eco-rafting in China”.
