Joss-stick period of Mountain Hengshan

The joss-stick period is one of the unique customs of Mountain Hengshan, which means that from July to September, folks use specific form to burning joss-sticks in Mountain Hengshan. It is a kind of sacrificing activity in folks. Especially it is stipulated in Mountain Hengshan that August 1 measured by Chinese lunar calendar is the birthday of the Emperor of Mountain Hengshan. Therefore August 1 is the climax of the joss-stick period, hundreds of thousands of come to Mountain Hengshan to burn joss-stick and worship the emperor on this day.
