Sutra Collection Hall

It is a splendid scenic spot, which is famous for “the elegance of Sutra Collection Hall”. The Sutra Collection Hall is located among the flowers and green shadow covering with auspicious light. The richly ornamented building in the hall set off the green leaves and fresh flowers all around, making it extremely splendid and magnificent.

The elegance of Sutra Collection Hall, one of the “Four Best Sceneries of Southern Mountain”, is located at the foot of Xiangguang peak of southern mountain, which is an ancient building with glazed tile red wall and tilting quoin single eave, the temple is unique and rigorous, simple and elegant, it just like a beautiful pearl inlaying in the green jade flowing jungle. In 1980s, it is restored, in the palace, there are the highly skilled painted colorful drawings, and the added sculpts with vivid image. Thailand Chinese Mr. Huang Zhangren gentleman and his wife Mrs. Ouyang Hui presented a golden bronze image of Buddha in autumn of 1980, which is placed in the palace, the name of Buddha is “Biluzhena”, with pure copper gold-plating and the exquisite posture, it is dazzling and eye-catching, adding new luster for the cultural relics of Southern Mountain.

Around the Sutra Collection Hall, the earth is rich and the water is deep, and the temperature is not too low, which enable the easy growth of plant, there are such precious trees as Tilia endochrysea, elaeocarpus, cerberus tree, sweet oachestnut, the torreya grandis fort and so on, it comparably completely preserves the evergreen broad-leaf mixed primitive vegetation of the subtropics mountainous region. Among the trees, the ones that the visitors are most interested in are three wonderful trees namely the money tree, the same root tree and the interlocked branch tree which are near the river in front of the palace.
 
There are many historical site fables of the sutra collection hall; in front of the palace, there is the spirit field. Whenever the autumn night falls, the flying light just likes the candle, the profiles of the old forest and the ancient palace are visible, which are doubtfully to be regarded as the “miraculous light of Lu Palace”, in fact it is caused by the dance of the gathering fireflies with sparkling gleam, people calls it as the “pilgrimage of the fireflies”. In front of the spirit field, there is the dressing table, according to the legend; it is the place for the mother of Minggui emperor concubine dowager Chen to make up. In the surrounding area, there is the fishing platform, on the basis of fable, it is the fishing place of the concubine Zhang Lihua of the later king of six dynasties.

The scenic spots include: Sutra Collection Hall, Waiai Woods, Dressing Table, Yunchun Kiosk, Beauty Pool, Fishing Terrace, Shuiyue Nunnery, Dragon Pool, etc. The characteristic here is the rare and unique plants. If you come here in the early spring, maybe you meet the “frog party” in the Dragon Pool.
