Water Curtain Cave

In front of the Water Curtain Cave, there is the Zigai Stream, which is 8 li away from the Yu Stream. The source of Water Curtain Cave waterfall lies in fountain of Zigaifeng. There are three fountains converged together flowing into the valley with width by three zhang on Water Curtain Cave, this valley formerly is the habitant for the daylight-flying of the nine real persons of Liang Dynasty, and later nine-fairy guan was established with the Sun fountain, Xixin Fountian, Dong zhenyuan, Fairy Pond and so on in the vicinity. It is said that this fountain abysmal, the water is rushing down form the stone wall with the thundering-like voice, spreading out to ten-mile place. With the jade green pond below the Water Curtain Cliff, the clouds in the sky and emerald green mountain chain, we can see a beautiful landscape painting.

There are many poets and famous writers in the Tang, Song, Ming, Qing Dynasties inscribed and indited poems for this landscape. Such as the stone inscription of “Zhuling Cave Sky of Southern Mountain” in Song Dynasty, “The First Fountain Around The World” in Ming Dynasty, “Snow in Summer and thunder in sunny day” and “Watching The Waterfall by drunk-laying” in Qing Dynasty. In addition, the “Flying Qiong and Spattering Snow”, “the Ancient and Today is Hanging on the Curtain”, etc. are well-known. Water Curtain Cave is the place for the movement of Taoism in Tang Dynasty. They called it cave sky and blessing place, viz. “Zhuling Cave Sky”. Therefore, “the Miracle of Water Curtain Cave” now is one of the best sceneries of Southern Mountain.
