Iron Buddha Temple originally named Baoguo Temple, also known as Iron Buddha Nunnery. It was founded in the Southern Song Dynasty during Baoqing period (1225-1227). Located in Mountain Zhugao at the foot of the Mist and Glow, it's around one Li down to present Yehou Academy. The temple named for its big iron Buddha which is Amite Buddha weighing up to ten thousands Jin and casting in Ming Dynasty. Several white magnolia flowers are in the front of the temple. They blossom in midsummer and flowers perfume for miles. |
