Dashan Temple is located at the north branch street of the ancient town of Southern Mountain. This temple is initially set up in the South and North Dynasties, which is the place for the Zen master Chen Huisi to read the doctrines, and it was destroyed later. At the beginning of Tang Dynasty, it was reconstructed, the flourish and destroyed situation was unclear during Song and Yuan Dynasties. Currently, there are over forty large and small sized houses, such as the Gate of Mountain, the Son of Heaven Palace, the Side Hall, the Great Buddha's Hall, Sutra Collection Building, abbot's room, the small room, the storehouse, the dining hall of the temple and so on, the floor space amounts to more than 3,000 square meters. The constant number of shamans is 60-90, it is one of the five important Buddhism jungles of South Mountain in Qing Dynasty. |
