Historic Site of British Consulate

In 1876, Beihai was designated as a trading port according to Sino-British Yantai Treaty. British consulate was built up in 1877. It is a two-floor quadrate western building with 47 meters long, 12 meters wide and a total area of 154 sq.meters. Its main building was kept well. Surrounded by a chain of camphor trees, environment of the site is very beautiful. A cornerstone marked in English words still stands inside the building. It's the only historical evidence of Sino-British Yantai Treaty in Beihai.
