Taibai Tower, with other names of Blue Lotus Temple or Immortal-Banishing Building, is located at the foot of Mountain Cuiluo in Caishi Park of Ma'anshan City.
Li Bai, the most famous poet in the Tang Dynasty, traveled here on several occasions where he left a number of celebrated poems. In order to memorize Li Bai, Xiuhui, a monk from Guangji Temple built the Immortal-Banishing Building in the Fifth Year of the Reign Zhengtong in Emperor Yingzong(1440 A.D.).
In the First Year of the Emperor Kangxi's Reign in the Qing Dynasty (1662 A.D.), the building was rebuilt and renamed as Taibai Building. In the Third Year of Emperor Guangxu Reign in the Qing Dynasty (1887 A.D.), it was rebuilt again by General Peng Yulin of Hu'nan Navy.
Taibai Building was built against the mountain and with its front facing the Yangtze River. It is a three-story attic building constructed by woods and stones. The first story is Meditation and Recitation Hall, the second is the Li Bai Memorial Hall, and the third is Moon Appreciation Building.
