| | The old Phoenix Pine [edit this] | | In the middle of Minyuan Park, there is a famous scenic spot——The old Phoenix Pine. It is 7.68 meters tall and 1 meter in width, whose shape looks queerly like a phoenix spreading wings, that's why it was so named. The trunk is mainly level but with a raising head, which is the head of the phoenix, the two branches, one on top of the other, is the tail, under which there is a huge rock called “phoenix's egg”. The old Phoenix Pine can be traced back to the South and North Dynasty, which is 1,400 years from our time. However, the old Phoenix Pine is in jade green, is filling with vigorous life. With its majestic posture and interesting legend, the old phoenix became the apple of the eyes of many poets, drawers, and photographers. | Sunrise in Qiyuan Park [edit this] | | Qiyuan Temple was first built during Jiajing period of the Ming dynasty. It is a palace-like building. Rooms overtapped each other, the palace, room and courts form a winding line which are ingeniously connected. Inside the palace it is filled with auspicious at mosphere. The biggest buddhist figure in Mountain Jiuhua, the massive Hengsanshi Buddha is worshipped here. Qiyuan Temple backs on Dongya Peak, faces the tiger-shape hill when the sun begins to rise, the area is immerced in the sweet smell of joss sticks and the pleascent sound of monks reading sutra. | The Ganlu Temple [edit this] | | The Ganlu Temple is located in the middle way of north Mountain Jiuhua. It is said that the night before when the construction was to began, all the pine neesles were covered with shining dew. Rumourhad it that a Boddhisattva appeared and made the dew. Therefore a memorial was presented to the emperor and it was named Ganlu, which means sweet dew. The temple is constructed to the landscpe and it is pleasingly asymmetrical. The interior is beautifully carved, glorious and serious. The curing path in it is profound. Outside, there are slender bamboo growing beautifully and brooks splashing happily. Along two sides of the road before the temple are stone made railings at which enable one to lock far away in the shadow of old trees. Ganlu Temple is the piont where the climate becomes different between the top and the foot of the mountain. Sometimes, the top is heavily cast with cloud and mist whereas the foot is clear. Sometimes the food is thundering and lighting, the sun shines radiantly on the top. In the middle of autumn, a few maples in the temple and the maple forest forms a charming contrast, they look like sunset clouds which is magnificiently beautiful. | Edit by: ch | |
| Sea of bamboo at Minyuan Park [edit this] | | Sea of bamboo at Minyuan Park locates in a beautiful vally on the way to Tiantai. The landscape there is craggy with many streams running lengthwise and sidewise. And when the wind blows, the bamboo leaves sibilate with an ear-pleasing cadence while the streams are gurgling and the springs gushing in the background. Both sides of every path are lined with bamboo. There are more than 20 nunnery standing next to each other which are built in Hui style, simple and elegant. | Spring scenery in Huatai [edit this] | | Huatai, which locates in the north of Tiantai Peak, is famous for its abundant and beautiful flowers. In 1986, it was opened up as a place of interest for the natural scenery there. In lively spring, various flowers flourish while pretty trees thrive in luxuriantly green. Clusters of flowers either blooming or budding; fill the vally with delicate fragrance. Coutless azaleas twinkle as the stars that shrine. Besides, continuous peaks flutter, such as Liantai Peak, Tianmen Peak and Huixian Peak.
