The waterfall is the centrepiece of the Furong Holiday Resort, whose 6,000 hectares encompass hills, waterfalls and forests. It has already become one of the most popular weekend destinations for Guangzhou residents.
Furongzhong is 16 kilometres north of Huadu City or 38 kilometres north of Guangzhou's city district. To reach Furongzhong by bus or car from Huadu, one can take State Highway 107 and then turn onto the special highway for the Furong Holiday Resort, which altogether takes 30 minutes. | Gao Jianfu Memorial Hall [edit this] | | The Gao Jianfu Memorial Hall was established in commemoration of Gao Jianfu (1879-1951), co-founder of the Lingnan school of painting. It's an important facility for research on Gao Jianfu and the artistic development of the Lingnan school of painting. The memorial hall originally sat on the premises of the former Chunshui Painting Academy, where Gao lectured and fostered a significant number of artistic talents during the 1920s, which helped stimulated the development of the Lingnan school of painting art.
In 1989, Gao's family donated the premises of the Chunshui Painting Academy to the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government. The Government subsequently demolished buildings on the premises and built the Gao Jianfu Memorial Hall. The hall displays historical materials relating to Gao's artistic career and some of his works and poem and prose manuscripts, introduces Gao's artistic evolution and accomplishments, and illustrates his participation in the Revolution of 1911 spearheaded by Dr. Sun Yet-sen.
The Gao Jianfu Memorial Hall is affiliated with the Guangzhou Museum of Art.

| Flower & Garden Expo Park [edit this] | | Situated in the northeast of the park are two Lingnan-style (South China-style) gardens: Huifang Garden and Lingnan Garden. In terms of layout, their buildings, ancestral temples and gardens are all integrated, while the Lingnan-style gardens have various spaces and elegant styles. The gardens are not just limited to one pattern. There is a whole series of natural, picturesque rural scenes on show.
The climate is also taken into account. Pavilions and kiosks in the gardens provide visitors with shade to protect against the sizzling heat in summer while air passages help cool air fan visitors. In the winter, the garden is protected from northerly winds by walls.
Traditional Chinese artwork like wood engravings, porcelain and embroidery are also incorporated. The structures are a blend of the traditional and the modern, with concrete underpinning the tiled roofs and fiber-optic lighting under the eaves. Wood is used where appropriate, to add warmth and a traditional feel. | Edit by: Dorothy
| Furong Holiday Resort [edit this] | | The Furong Holiday Resort is located at the mountain area north of Huadu District. The place was originally named Furong Cliff. Nowadays, there are more than 50 hotels and holiday inns, providing accommodations, food, drinks, shopping malls, entertainments and conference centres. Tourist attractions are scattered all over the resort.
The famous West Mountain Fall is also situated at the northeast corner of the reservoir, inside the holiday resort. The waterfall falls 100 metres down from the cliff, 30 metres more in width which is the biggest natural waterfall inside Guangzhou. It is also called the Dragon's Liquid since it is under the Dragon Temple on the cliff top. With the natural splash under the fall, the natural pool is thus reformed into a watering place which is the largest in Guangzhou district. | Edit by: Dorothy
| Fangcun Flower Fair Garden [edit this] | | Fangcun District lies in the southwest of Guangzhou, with beautiful natural scene, superior locations and convenient traffic, which is surrounded by Pearl River except for west section with a river line of 31 kilos. Huadi River runs across the district from south to north, to form a double surrounding situation. River surrounding at 3 sides with dense river networks as well as the humid climate provide superior conditions to develop ecological agriculture.
Fangcun was named “Flower Place” and “Thousand Year Flower Home”, which has a flower growing history of 1,700 years and is the cradle of Lingnan bonsai. Numerous scholars and poets have left a great number of poems to praise Fangcun. Kang Youwei wrote “The flowers are still in bloom in thousand year flower home, the former Liu Lang may return now” in Visit to Flower Place.
