Located in the northwest of Jiangkou County, Tongren Prefecture, and at the boundary of Jiangkou, Yinjiang and Songtao Counties, nearby Southeast Guizhou, Mountain Fanjing is the main peak of the Wuling Range and has an elevation of 2,572 meters and an area of 567 square kilometers.
As one of the holy lands of Buddhism, Mountain Fanjing has many temples on it, such as Sakyamuni Temple, Mile Buddha Temple, and Cheng'en Temple. In the nature protection area are various rare plants, such as dove trees, Zhong'e trees, hemlocks, and goose palm catalpa, in addition to many animals under protection, such as Guizhou golden monkeys, Sumen antelopes, and tragopans with red belly.
