Mountain Yuntai Scenic Zone is situated at Xiuwu County 30 kilometers northeast of jiaozuo City, which near Zhengzhou City.
It was called “Overturned Kettle Mountain” in ancient times, because the mountain resembles the shape of a huge kettle standing upside down, overlooking the other peaks. Since its high and steep peaks are enveloped in floating mist and cloud all the year round, it is otherwise known as Mountain Yuntai, meaning a platform above the cloud.
The zone is famous not only for its surprisingly precipitous peaks and extremely beautiful waters, but also for the fine climate and thick vegetation. Mountain Yuntai incorporates the peril of Mountain Huashan, the magnificence of Mountain Taishan, the elegance of Mountain E'mei, the wonder of Mountain Huangshan, and the serenity of Mountain Chingchen. The main scenes include Xiaozhai Valley with pretty landscape, Wenpan Valley of Danyalongxia, Laotan Valley with verdant ten thousand of trees, Zifang Lake with popple aquamarine wave, Baijia Rock with picturesque scenery, and so on.
