| | [edit this] | | Passing through the Fan Pavilion and going northward along the pond, traveler come to the Inverted Reflection Building, which is also named the Memorial Hall for Wen and Shen. Wen Zhengming designed this garden. His portrait is carved on a stone tablet set in the eastern wall of the hall. Opposite to Wen’s portrait is the portrait of Shen Zhou (1427-1509), teacher of Wen Zhengming (1470-1559).
In the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) there were four outstanding painters who organized Suzhou style Painting School and were all natives of Suzhou. The other two are Tang Yin (1470-1523) and Chou Ying (1500-1552). | Edit by: ch | |
