Yanji City is situated in the east of Jilin Province, and original name is Nangang. During the Qing Dynasty, Yanji City was a Ting an administrative region, became a city and the capital of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in 1952. It was designated as one of the national first-class open cities. Yanji City is rich in forest resources, for the whole city sits in the “Changbai forest sea”.
